Biography
My work is charcoal on paper. I use the natural world as a starting point for my work and then modify and abstract in a way that fits my aesthetic. My work ranges from small subject matter (Estuary is based on a cross section of termite mound) to large (Passage is a slot canyon). I love the richness of the black and subtle value range of charcoal. I took art classes at UW Madison but never received my degree. I’m from Madison but currently reside in Deerfield with my wife, Amy, a cat and a dog.
