Biography

Madison based artist, Valerie Draves, works in a variety of mediums in both professional and personal pursuits. An industrial designer by training and trade, Valerie continually seeks to develop and implement products that are functional, useful, and aesthetically pleasing. Valerie focuses on utilizing sustainable production practices and methods to bring to market products that people will use and enjoy through their daily living. She is credited as a co-inventor on patents registered with the United States Patent Office and the European Patent Office.

Although Valerie’s professional activity is focused on product design, her personal passions include more general pursuits involving art, design, and building. Whether it is freelancing as a graphic designer, building furniture in her garage, or drawing cartoon characters with her kids, Valerie uses her energy and imagination to explore myriad avenues for artistic expression and inspired production. She enjoys using her vision and her hands to cultivate the potential for re-purpose or transformation found in everyday objects.
