Biography
I specialize in abstract creations made with acrylic paint, set either on canvas or in jewelry. Working in abstract art means having to give up a certain amount of control, and that is exactly the vibe I need in my art. Each pour-painted canvas starts with a goal in mind: a specific recipe, color palette, and technique. However, I can never fully predict what the end result will look like, because each painting ends up with unique patterns, spacing, and designs! I’ve learned that I really enjoy making wearable art as well. For jewelry, I make acrylic “skins” on silicone sheets. I enjoy creating many different small designs on each skin, in a way I can’t do when working with canvases that require a more cohesive pattern. Once dry, the acrylic skins become a flexible, sturdy material that I cut out pieces of to make jewelry.
My works evoke a sense of wonder, connection, and representation. As a queer person, I am quite aware of how folks in the LGBTQIAA2S+ community seek out Pride flag color palettes, and so I incorporate those in much of my work. I make sure to always stock as many pride flag items as possible across my designs so that when customers look at my work, they see themselves shining back.
My work is vibrant, unique, and fun and I love that I get to share it with others.
