Biography

I have spent much of my life treating art as a casual hobby, whether it was drawing, printmaking or painting. But photography has become the first art form that I want to pursue and truly develop, influenced by my studies in college. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Preservation Studies. This has directed a focus in my work on cities; the architecture, the people, and the landscapes within. The scale often varies from large representations of the streets to the smallest details in the buildings. I think of my photographic art as a way to interpret and reinterpret the art of the world around us. Much of my previous work has been created while traveling to cities around the country and Europe. While I plan to continue this exploration of new places, I also hope to turn my focus on building a collection of work to represent Madison and its surrounding areas.
