Biography

Residing in Wisconsin for most of my adult life, my photographic interests developed after my retirement in 2008. Retirement gave me the time to travel and pursue my photographic journey through workshops and seminars with Freeman Patterson, Keith Carter, Sean Kernan, Sam Abell, Doug Beasley, Aline Smithson, Ted Orland and other master photographers.

I have participated in art fairs, juried and non-juried exhibits, art cooperatives, speaking engagements and other opportunities. While my range of interests has focused on landscape, nature and travel photography in the past, my recent projects have shifted from iconic imagery to more expressive and contemplative work.

In addition to frequent appearances in national and regional juried and solo exhibitions, my award-winning work has been exhibited at WE Energies, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, Northwestern Mutual Life, American Transmission Corp., Lake Country Gallery in Pewaukee, Main Street Gallery in Cedarburg, and on Exclusively Yours Magazine covers. I am a co-author of “Wisconsin As We See It – Seven Photographers, Seven Voices” and author of “Up North to Down East”, both available at Blurb.com. The “Light of Being” project was featured in LensWork Magazine’s annual publication, “2017 Seeing in Sixes”.

I am a member of the Wisconsin Visual Artists, Madison Art Guild, PhotoMidwest, Coalition of Photographic Artists and other regional and national art organizations.
