Biography

My creative journey as a self-taught Mexican American artist from Los Angeles is deeply rooted in my community and the diverse array of artists that I have encountered throughout my life. My artistic approach is raw and intuitive, guided by my emotions and the textures of the materials that I work with. I believe that my art is a reflection of my soul, and I strive to create a profound connection between myself and the canvas.

My use of acrylic and oil pastels on canvas allows me to explore the interplay of color, shape, and markings in order to achieve emotive expressions. I often employ a contrasting pictorial structure composed of squares and rectangles, which helps to convey a visual unity within my work. In engaging with my art, I encourage viewers to contemplate and connect with their own emotions and experiences.

As an emerging artist with a non-traditional background, I am passionate about collaboration and pushing the boundaries of conventional artistic practices.
