Biography
I paint about the wonderment of the natural world. Paintings are meant to be immersive, mindful, and celebretory of common, everyday scenes, food, and objects. My goal is to use acrylics to create the effect you may commonly see in oil painting: saturated, transparent, glazed layers that glow and scatter light.
I am a graphic designer and have spent my free time in the last couple of years rediscovering painting, which I had not practiced since college. I paint often and have participated in two group shows in the last year, selling 17 paintings. My goal is to continue painting regularly, participate in group shows, and be of service to the art community in the Madison area.
I currently am working on a series of paintings based on scenes around the lakes of Minocqua. Some scenes are large and are about a specific moment of light in the landscape. Others are about the small details of an environment that we may not typically examine closely.
