Biography

As an Artist and Art educator, I am excited to apply for membership in the Madison Art Guild to connect both myself and my students to Artists, ideas and opportunities in the Madison area.

My most recent work is an attempt to return to a more natural form, or “repurpose”, mostly found wood. As I’ve experimented and developed this body of work my appreciation for the beauty of the material combined with a respect for the previous life of the designed objects that I’m transforming has driven me to create and explore.

I’m hoping that viewers of my work find appreciation for both the animal forms as well as the materials. Most of the materials I use come from what others have discarded and left on their curb. I like to think that I’m giving these previously useful objects a second life.
