Biography

Karen Faller is an encaustic and mixed media artist, originally from Canada and now living in Madison, WI. She primarily works in encaustics, which are paintings made with beeswax, tree-resin, and pigments, sometimes combining it with photography, re-purposed barnwood, driftwood, found objects and printmaking. Her work encompasses a wide range of subjects, often inspired by nature, biology and travel, with common themes including transience, weathering, the passing of time, and the flow of water.
