Biography

I started painting and drawing at a young age but once children and career intervened, I was busy with other things. In the last several years I’ve returned to painting primarily watercolor sometimes adding other media, i.e., gouache, charcoal or tissue collage. When I have the chance, I like to paint “plein air,” which reminds me of the true shapes, colors, and perspective of living things and objects.

My favorite subject is animals, but I intersperse those paintings with more traditional subjects—florals, landscapes and portraits. Lately I’ve enjoyed doing commissions of people’s dogs and cats and sometimes homes. Such fun and such joy. Like almost every artist I’ve met, I paint because I love doing it.
