Biography

 

Vina loves nature and says that walking her dog, in early morning, at neighborhood park brings her serenity. The birds, the flowers and the pond are all part of the joy in her life. As an artist, she strives to capture the sense of harmony and peace within image of nature. She also enjoys sharing this tranquility with others beyond the cultures, ethnicity and language differences. Vina’s artworks focus on applying Chinese brush painting techniques to rice paper and silk. She has also worked with other media such as pastel and oils. She is very passionate for both western and eastern art styles and likes to bring their essence in her art. Vina’s art has been exhibited in solo and group shows at local galleries and international art show. She has received many honors and awards from the exhibitions. Her long scroll artworks have earned special awards at the Annual Japan International Sumi-e Society Competetion. Vina is the co-founder of the Chinese Fine Art Association, Madison, Wisconsin.
